Current Priority GroupsResident and Early Career Psychiatrists
Canadian psychiatrists who are finishing or have just finished postgraduate training in psychiatry represent the future of psychiatry in Canada. The Foundation recognizes and supports their efforts to develop innovative, evidence-based best practices to better serve their patients and all Canadians.
Rural and Isolated Areas
The Foundation encourages Canadian psychiatrists who work in or directly support rural communities and isolated areas to share their best practices and to develop innovative ways to serve Canada’s vast areas.
Private Practitioners and Community Psychiatrists
Providing opportunities for Canadian psychiatrists operating in a private practice or within a community setting and who are reimbursed directly by OHIP, MSI, or the equivalent thereof in other provinces, is also an important area for FCPA. The Foundation recognizes that this segment of the psychiatric community delivers some of the best care, and it encourages them to advance the profession by sharing and delivering long-term successes through documented efforts and collaborative projects.
